Connected

Driving back from snowboarding a couple weekends ago, Khalid's bro DWest was blessing us with some choice selections from his iPod. This one in particular started out with a loop that sounded like it was from a 50s Technicolor movie, like the Jungle Book or Tarzan or something. I couldn't stop nodding my head. I found out that it was this group called The Foreign Exchange. Cool. Downloaded a couple more tunes when I got home. Wore out a groove in my Shuffle, the beats were so smooth, lyrics so tight. I googled them and that's when I learned the whole story, which blew my socks off even further.

"The members of Foreign Exchange have never held a telephone conversation: never met face to face. That's right. Breaking the current barriers set up between music and geography, The Foreign Exchange conceptualized, conceived and completed Connected by means of instant messenger and the world wide web." They met through the boards on Okayplayer. They did an interview on
NPR.
