A surprisingly well-written article on competitive eating, this profile of Sonya Thomas has some great anecdotes and jargon (nice euphemism for vomiting: "reversal of fortune"). This woman is a manager at Burger King, she weighs 99 lbs, her stomach can stretch to hold 16 pounds of food, she's eaten 552 oysters in 10 minutes, is the Number One female competitive eater in the U.S. The thing that I've always wondered about is how these people defecate...but I guess that's just me.
