9 Songs

What surprised me about this news blip about Michael Winterbottom's new real-sex movie was not the controversy, but the extent to which the British Board of Film Classification spokeswoman defended it (something that obviously would never happen in the States). "The rating was given within the BBFC's guidelines. There is nothing illegal or harmful shown in the film. If people don't won't to watch it, they don't have to go to the cinema to see it." So I decided to look up the guidelines they use to classify whether a movie is smut, porn, or safe for minors. *sigh* We are so very repressed.
